GOTS Certified Organic Silk

GOTS Certified Silk, Explained

When you choose something to sleep on every night, it should be safe for your skin and made responsibly for the world around you. That is why every Suain product carries GOTS certification.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading international benchmark for organic textiles. Unlike labels that only look at fibre content, GOTS covers the full process - from how fibres are grown, to how they are dyed and finished, to the working conditions of the people who make them.

Safer for You

GOTS prohibits the use of harmful dyes, pesticides, and toxic chemical finishes. This matters because conventional textiles often contain chemical residues that can transfer to the skin during use. By removing these substances, GOTS-certified silk remains pure, breathable, and gentle against the skin.

Better for the Planet

Textile production is a major source of global water pollution, largely due to the dyeing process. According to an article published by the European Parliament, "Textile production is estimated to be responsible for about 20% of global clean water pollution from dyeing and finishing products". Under GOTS, no harmful chemicals or dyes can be used and waste treatment is strictly regulated. This reduces the release of toxic effluents into waterways and lowers the environmental impact of production.

Fair for People

Certification also sets social criteria. Workers must be provided with safe conditions, fair pay, and protections against exploitation. Independent audits verify that these standards are being met across the supply chain. This is very important to us.

Our Commitment

Every Suain product begins with the same principle: it must meet the highest organic and ethical standard. That’s why GOTS certification applies across our entire collection, without exception.
