Sustainability at Still Suain

Sustainability at Still Suain

Sustainability isn’t a marketing angle for us.
It’s the foundation of why Still Suain exists.

From the silk we source to the way our sleep essentials are made, packaged, and used night after night, every decision is shaped by one belief: better sleep should never come at the planet’s expense.

Back to the Beginning

Biodegradable by Nature

Silk is one of the world’s most remarkable natural materials. Unlike synthetic fabrics derived from fossil fuels, pure mulberry silk is fully biodegradable when produced without harmful chemicals.

At the end of its life, a chemical-free silk sleep mask or silk pillowcase can break down naturally, returning nutrients to the earth without leaving microplastics or toxic residue behind.

That’s sustainability in its truest form: materials that begin in nature and return to it.

Clean Earth

Respect for the Land

Our mulberry silk is cultivated without pesticides or harsh agricultural chemicals. This protects soil health, biodiversity, and the long-term viability of farmland.

Conventional textile farming often prioritises yield at the expense of the earth. We take the opposite approach. Healthy soil creates healthier silk, and healthier silk creates better sleep.

Organic and low-impact silk farming supports:

Clean Oceans

No Place for Plastics

The fashion and home textiles industries are major contributors to water pollution and microplastic contamination. Synthetic blends shed plastic fibres every time they’re washed, polluting rivers and oceans invisibly.

Still Suain stands firmly against this.

Our silk pillowcases and silk sleep masks are made without synthetic blends or plastic fibres. Our dyes and finishes avoid toxic runoff, and our packaging is designed to minimise plastic wherever possible.

Protecting oceans means making deliberate choices upstream, before damage is done.

Clean Air

Better for You, Better for Communities

Plastics, pesticides, and chemical treatments don’t just pollute water and soil. They contaminate the air during production, impacting factory workers and surrounding communities.

By choosing breathable, natural silk and avoiding harsh chemical finishes, we reduce airborne toxins and volatile compounds released during manufacturing.

Clean materials mean cleaner air - from production to your bedroom.

Slower Fashion

Made to Last

Fast fashion has trained consumers to expect disposability. The result is catastrophic waste, with the majority of textiles ending up in landfill within a year of purchase.

Still Suain exists outside that cycle.

Our silk pillowcases and silk sleep masks are designed to be used, washed, and loved for years. High-grade mulberry silk is naturally durable when cared for correctly, maintaining its benefits night after night.

We don’t design for trends. We design for longevity.

Health & Wellbeing

Sleep Without Compromise

Sustainability isn’t only environmental. It’s personal.

Plastics and chemical residues in fabrics have raised increasing concerns around skin sensitivity, hormonal disruption, and long-term health exposure. This matters when products are in direct contact with your face and hair for 7–9 hours every night.

Our silk sleep masks and silk pillowcases are free from plastics and harsh chemical treatments, making them gentler on skin, hair, and overall wellbeing.

Sustainable sleep is healthier sleep.

Ethical Manufacturing

Responsibility Beyond the Product

Luxury means nothing without responsibility.

We work with experienced silk producers who operate within strict labour and safety standards. Ethical manufacturing is non-negotiable. Fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for skilled craftsmanship are fundamental to how Still Suain operates.

Silk has a long history. We honour that history by ensuring it’s produced with integrity today.

Our Standards & Certifications

We prioritise transparency and recognised global benchmarks that protect both people and planet.

Our materials and production processes align with internationally respected standards, including:

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
Widely regarded as the gold standard for organic textiles, GOTS ensures that silk is processed without harmful chemicals and that strict social and environmental criteria are met throughout the supply chain.

OEKO-TEX® Certified Processes
Ensuring textiles are tested for harmful substances and produced with human health and environmental safety in mind.

The Still Suain Promise

Sustainability isn’t a claim we make once.
It’s a promise we honour every night.

From the silk sleep mask that rests against your skin to the silk pillowcase supporting your sleep, every Still Suain product is designed to deliver better rest, without compromise to your health or the planet.

Sleep well.
Sleep consciously.
Sleep Suain.
